NJ Thespians — Scenic Design
Nicholas DeMartino began his theater career his 9th grade year with the musical Spamalot at Pinelands Regional High School as a part of the stage crew, and shortly afterwards also joined their construction team. His most memorable sets are: How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Outsiders, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and by far the hardest he had done, Mackintosh and Disney’s Mary Poppins, also assisting in the set design and the flight rigging installation. He had also received the opportunity to be the sole set designer for the Pinelands Thespian Society’s production of D.W. Gregory’s Radium Girls his senior year. Nicholas also got the chance to construct props for his school. At Pinelands Regional High School, Nicholas has won the Pinelands Thespians Stage Crew MVP award and the Daedalus award for his creativity and mechanical thinking skill. At the 2019 Thespians Festival, Nicholas won first place in the Rigging and Knot Tying and Scenic Design categories, and a superior for the Scenic Design category. After High School, Nicholas plans on attending Ocean county college through NJ STARS, then transferring to a state college for a major in mechanical engineering and minor in theater tech.
