New Jersey Music Educators Association — All-State Chorus
Olivia Leto is a senior at Mahwah High School, class of 2020. Throughout high school, Olivia has participated in multiple choirs on a county, region, state, and national level. After singing with the All-State choir her sophomore year, Olivia realized her love for singing in such competitive and advanced choirs. She practiced tirelessly to place high in her section and, through her hard work, earned the title of top Soprano I in the New Jersey All-State Choir for two consecutive years. In addition to her choral accomplishments, Olivia is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Science Honor Society, Mahwah High School Drama Club, and both Mahwah Marching and Symphonic Bands. For the next four years, Olivia will be pursuing a liberal arts education and continue singing at Northeastern University in Boston. Olivia would like to thank NJMEA and Arts Ed NJ for the opportunity to accept the prestigious New Jersey Governor’s Award for Arts in Education. She is grateful for the support of her family, friends, Principal Mr. John Pascale, and, most of all, Mrs. Morneweck-Fuld, who was by her side every step of the way.
