Ricky Boscarino aka: Ricky of Luna Parc has been a self-supporting artist for most of his 60 years. Working in a variety of media including metal, clay, wood, cement and glass, his work ranges in concepts from the ridiculous to the sublime. His jewelry is inspired by the natural world, fully movable and articulated insects made of sterling silver and bronze are his signature pieces.

His current body of work are a collection of what he calls FacePots. These semi functional ceramic sculptures depict characters from his imagination, caricatures of politicians, celebrities, and other infamous people as well as animal and monsters.

His great work in progress is his home in northwest New Jersey which he has named Luna Parc. Since 1989, the original 600 square foot cabin has been transformed into a museum of oddities and the grounds have evolved into a sculpture park.

The Governor’s Awards in Arts Education began in 1980 to promote awareness and appreciation of the arts, recognizing the creativity, talent and leadership of the award winners. Each year, awards are presented to approximately 20 educators and 80 students. National and statewide organizations select the students for their exemplary work in creative writing, speech, dance, music, theatre and visual arts and the leaders for their exceptional commitment and contribution to arts education. The program also recognizes arts educators and arts education advocates, whose leadership has helped nurture the development of students in the arts across the state.
